If this is your first attempt at ‘twink dating’, you are in for a hell of a ride! It’s hard work when you put yourself in a niche dating bracket because there isn’t a lot of information on the internet about it, and as you can imagine, there are more than a few things that Wikipedia can’t tell you…
Let’s start with some of the basics. The term “twink” is just one of a group of names now, all part of the gay slang dictionary. You can be a femme twink, a muscle twink and more. It comes form the whole “Twinkie” thing – that American candy bar that tasted so good. It’s kind of phallic shaped, which is perhaps where the term come from, and of course, you can’t forget about that creamy goodness inside – I’ll let you make your mind up as to what this could possible imitate! 😉
Now, there are a few things that we must add to this – the things that Wikipedia can’t tell you about twink dating. For example, did you know that a lot of twinks consider themselves to be divas and are therefore a hell of a lot emote high maintenance than some of the guys you may have already dated. These twinks like to look good and take care of themselves so you can expect gym trips, tanning trips, appointments for teeth cleaning, hair waxing, tanning, etc. You can’t really complain either – isn’t that one of the reasons why you lust after them so badly? Because they look as good as they do?
Now, one thing you should probably be aware of is that a lot of the bigger, butch, “bear” type gay men CAN use twink as a term to be quite derogatory. We hope that you never have the misfortune of being called this in the bad sense of the word, but it has been used against us so we feel it is only fair to advise you of that fact.
Once upon a time, the term twink was thought to mean “Teenaged, white, no kink”, but this isn’t generally the case these days. For example, one of the things that you may be asked in your online twink dating journey is about your “K”.
